Habari za jioni,
After months of planning, getting immunizations, fundraising, and talking about our trip, it was with great excitement that we finally gathered at Logan airport last night to begin our adventure together. Our bags were filled within ounces of the 50lb limit with our own clothes, as well as books, puzzles, soccer balls and other assorted supplies for the Kenyan school children. Highlights from the overnight flight from Boston to Heathrow included Haley sternly reprimanding Kristen and Kieran for talking while everyone (including Haley) was trying to sleep, Kieran being unable to sleep at all during the flight, and Lily and Kieran’s arrival in London marking their first time ever out of the United States.

Following the 9 hour flight to Nairobi, we were met by our pre-arranged taxi drivers at Jomo Kenyatta Airport who brought us to our hotel for the evening. So, almost 24 hours later, we are now happily curled up in our hotel beds on the other side of this spinning planet from most of you. Lala salama.
